Obama-Appointed Judge Grants

A federal judge ruled in favor of Elon Muskโ€™s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), allowing access to student loan data despite objections from student groups. U.S. District Judge Randolph D. Moss denied a temporary restraining order sought by the University of California Student Association (UCSA),

 

which argued it would violate privacy rights. Moss, an Obama appointee, ruled UCSAโ€™s members wouldnโ€™t suffer irreparable harm, citing a 1984 case. The ruling supports Muskโ€™s plan to cut federal spending by $2 trillion annually, including reductions in student loan funding. Acting Secretary of Education Denise Carter can now provide the data to DOGE.
