On Interstate 696 in Huntington Woods, Michigan, 13 truck drivers stopped traffic to help prevent a person from jumping off a bridge. When State trooper Michael Shaw learned about the situation, he quickly came up with a plan and called for traffic to be rerouted. The trucks were strategically parked under the bridge to cushion any fall if the person jumped. After four hours of negotiation, the man was safely taken off the bridge and given psychological support. The truck drivers’ willingness to help, even with the long wait, made a difference
