Fox News\u2019 Kat Timpf revealed Tuesday she was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before she gave birth to her first child last week. Fox News<\/p>\n
\u201cAbout fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/ins><\/div>\n
Timpf explained in her post that the cancer was caught early, with her doctor telling her it\u2019s at \u201cStage 0 and is confident it almost certainly hasn\u2019t spread.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOr, as I\u2019ve explained to the few people I\u2019ve managed to tell about it so far:\u00a0Don\u2019t freak out. It\u2019s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Timpf said she was already stressed because she was more than a week past her due date and focused on delivering a healthy baby before she was told about the cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Timpf explained in her post that the cancer was caught early, with her doctor telling her it\u2019s at \u201cStage 0 and is confident it almost certainly hasn\u2019t spread.\u201d @kattimpf\/Instagram<\/p>\n
\u201cI sat and listened as they told me that the best course of action would likely be a double mastectomy as soon as possible,\u201d she went on to say as she sprinkled some humor into the post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked all the questions I could, including if I could get a copy of my tumor ultrasound to put on the fridge next to the ultrasound of my baby.<\/p>\n
\u201cFinally, by the middle of the night, I was crawling around on the floor of my apartment in spontaneous labor, before heading to the hospital to meet my baby, whom I\u2019d learn at the time of birth was a son.\u201d<\/p>\n
Timpf, an author of two books, said maternity leave over the next three months will be different than how she initially planned.<\/p>\n

\u201cStill, as I navigate new motherhood (and new cancer) I\u2019m learning to celebrate everything I can. I\u2019m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I\u2019m lucky to be my son\u2019s mom,\u201d said Timpf, who welcomed the newborn with husband\u00a0Cameron Friscia.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I know I\u2019m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules \u2014 and not just because he might have saved my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
