She was then diagnosed with tuberculosis and started treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe became ill after New Year\u2019s Day,\u201d Her on-duty partner, Officer Mikhail Kindrakevich, told the Daily Mail. \u201cShe had arrested this guy and he spat in her face. Some time later she collapsed. She had received treatment. Some cases can be drug-resistant and are not easily treated. It is unclear if Koltsova had a drug-resistant form of tuberculosis or if she was not diagnosed quickly enough for effective treatment.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear if the suspect will be charged in Koltsova\u2019s death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note: we are republishing this story, which originally made the news in July 2016.
