This weekend will bring yet another spectacle for the lovers of American football with the Kansas City Chiefs setting to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. Prior to the Super Bowl, the Chief\u2019s star Travis Kelce made a comment that triggered his girlfriend\u2019s reaction.<\/p>\n

Namely, Kelce said it would be a \u201cgreat honor\u201d to play in front of the president, which urged many Swifties \u2013 Taylor Swift fans \u2013 to tell her to \u201crun away\u201d from him.<\/p>\n

In the past, President Donald Trump made remarks about the singer, even stating that he \u201chates her,\u201d which triggered their reaction to Kelce\u2019s comment.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s comments on Swift came as a response to her publicly supporting his opponent, Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential campaign. At the time, Swift said, \u201cWe can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift, however, has shown her support for boyfriend Travis Kelce, clarifying that his statement wasn\u2019t an explicit endorsement of Trump, but rather of the position held by the country\u2019s leader, regardless who holds it.<\/p>\n

Kelce shared his thoughts on playing in front of the president ahead of the Super Bowl, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s awesome. It\u2019s a great honour, I think no matter who the President is.\u201d<\/p>\n

People close to the couple say Travis Kelce wasn\u2019t trying to make any political statements.
